Iloilo's Economy Continues to Roar

The historic town of Iloilo continues to roar as new opportunities strengthen its economic performance. The recent economic spur in Iloilo can be attributed to both the fiscal effort of the Local government and the direct local and foreign investments being poured in this city.

The five most important infrastructure projects that will further catalyse the economy of Iloilo City are Metro Iloilo Radial Road, Road project from Hechanova to Diversion Road, Iloilo Circumferential road, Improvement of Jaro-Leganes Road and Iloilo River Flood Control Program. Other than these Governmental Infrastructure projects another important factor that is contributing to the economic progress of Iloilo City are the direct investments from both local and foreign firms.

The vibrant Business Process Outsourcing Industry (BPO) of this city is clear manifestation that Iloilo City is all set for next major economic step. Most of the Call Centers and other BPO Companies are concentrated in the Iloilo Business Park. With Iloilo's geared working population this BPO boom is unlikely to slowdown in the coming years.

Just recently Megaworld Corporation confirmed that they will be pouring P10 billion additional investment in the Iloilo Business Park within the next 10 years.
