Filipino Style Chili Con Carne

Chili con Carne is basically a beef recipe made from ground beef with chili, garlic, tomato sauce and beans. Due to its overseas popularity, here in Philippine there's already is already the so called "Filipino Style Chili Con Carne" that is less spicy compared to the western Chili con carne.




Ingredients
400 grams ground beef
1 French onion, minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons of chili powder
1 red bell pepper, chopped
3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 large tomatoes, chopped
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 small can of cooked red kidney beans.
1/2 cup of water
1/2 piece beef cube
Salt and pepper to taste

Procedures
1. In a pan, heat the cooking oil and sauté the garlic and the French onion.
2. Add the ground beef and cook for 7 minutes or until the pork turns brown. Then add the water.
3. Add the 1/2 piece beef cube.
4. Add the chilli powder
5. Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
6. Add the bell pepper, red kidney beans and the oregano.

7. Add salt and pepper to taste.
